Cadillac has spent the last few years making the point that its V-Series badge is more than a styling package. The new V-ONE Concept takes that argument to its logical extreme: one seat, 830 combined horsepower and a deep mechanical connection to the V-Series.R prototype race car.

Set to appear at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California, on August 14, the V-ONE is not a lightly disguised road car. Cadillac calls it a concept study, and the company has announced no production plan, price or customer availability. What it has shown is a driver-focused Cadillac shaped by endurance-racing hardware.

The result is part race car, part luxury object and part engineering exercise. More importantly, it shows what Cadillac’s motorsports investment might mean beyond trophies.

Cadillac V-ONE Borrows Real V-Series.R Hardware

The key detail is what sits underneath the bodywork. Cadillac says the V-ONE was co-developed by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing and chassis specialist Dallara, the same combination behind the V-Series.R. The concept shares foundations with Cadillac’s LMDh race program rather than merely borrowing its shape.

That includes race-bred suspension architecture, transmission elements and select electronics. Cadillac specifies double-wishbone suspension with pushrod-actuated coil and torsion spring elements, plus lateral and heave dampers front and rear. The aerodynamic package is also inspired by the V-Series.R.

Cadillac says the goal is similar performance with easier operation. Prototype race cars are built around professional teams and highly trained drivers. The V-ONE explores what happens when some of that complexity is translated for one private driver.

An 830-HP Hybrid V-8 Sets the Tone

At the center is a hybrid V-8 producing 830 combined horsepower. Cadillac says the powertrain shares foundations with the V-Series.R, although it has not released displacement, torque, acceleration figures, battery capacity or curb weight.

Cadillac is not using electrification here as an efficiency talking point. The hybrid system is part of a package shaped by endurance racing, where electric assistance and combustion power work together under sustained load.

The credibility comes from competition. Since the V-Series.R arrived in 2023, Cadillac says its IMSA WeatherTech Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship programs have combined for 10 victories, 16 pole positions and 32 podium finishes. That includes the 2023 IMSA manufacturer, team and driver titles, the 2025 Le Mans Hyperpole and Cadillac’s first 1-2 WEC finish at São Paulo.

Cadillac Turns a Race Cockpit Into Bespoke Luxury

The single-seat cabin may be the V-ONE’s most interesting luxury statement. Instead of moving away from motorsport, Cadillac is trying to personalize the racing experience itself.

The cockpit uses exposed carbon structure, recycled Cadillac Collection fabrics and a steering-wheel layout developed with racing engineers. Cadillac says the buttons can be tailored to the client, while the seat is customized to the driver’s specifications. There is also a serialized plaque on the door.

Outside, the proportions remain closely tied to the V-Series.R. New V-Series wheels, dark-persona badging and a hand-sprayed paint fade from silver to deep navy represent the transition from daylight into darkness during an endurance race.

Why the Cadillac V-ONE Matters

The V-ONE is easy to dismiss as a Monterey showpiece because Cadillac has not said it will build one for customers. That would miss the more useful point.

Concept cars can reveal what a company wants its performance identity to become. Here, Cadillac is tying together racing, hybrid power, personalization and luxury. The V-ONE also arrives as Cadillac builds a larger performance story across the FIA World Endurance Championship and Formula 1.

For now, the V-ONE is exactly what Cadillac says it is: a concept. But it is a revealing one. Instead of asking how much racing style can be added to a luxury car, Cadillac is asking how much of a real race car can be made personal, usable and distinctly Cadillac.
