Range Rover Matched Pair Could Sell for $950,000
Some collectors buy a new vehicle and then search for an older model to park beside it. Range Rover has reversed that process by creating a 1993 Classic specifically to match its new flagship. The Range Rover matched pair will be offered together at auction with an estimate of $750,000 to $950,000.
The pairing brings together a restored 1993 Range Rover Classic County Edition and the first 2027 Range Rover SV Ultra LWB intended for the United States. Both are finished in Titan Silver and share coordinated interior colors, materials and design details. It is less a two-car garage than a carefully arranged family portrait.
Range Rover says its Classic division spent 2,000 hours restoring and personalizing the older SUV. That work covered fabrication, paint, trim and final assembly, along with extensive mechanical attention. For anyone who has watched a home renovation expand into a second career, 2,000 hours may sound believable.

A Range Rover Matched Pair Across 34 Years
The 1993 vehicle began life as a U.S.-market Range Rover County Edition. Its 3.9-liter V8 and four-speed automatic transmission remain, but the engine, transmission, suspension, steering and braking systems were comprehensively restored.
The design team gave the Classic a visual connection to the SV Ultra without erasing its original shape. Titan Silver paint uses fine aluminum flake and advanced pigments to produce a reflective, almost liquid-metal appearance. The Classic also receives Satin Platinum Atlas accents, 16-inch three-spoke wheels and cleaner body sides created by removing the original exterior trim.
Inside, the relationship becomes more obvious. The Classic uses Orchid White and Cinder Grey Ultrafabrics, the first use of the material in a Range Rover Classic. Its seats carry the same laser-crafted pattern and mosaic perforation used in the SV Ultra, while brushed aluminum handles and color-matched details move the 1993 cabin into the present.

The Classic Still Feels Like a Classic
The clever part is that Range Rover did not attempt to make the older vehicle behave like a new luxury SUV wearing a vintage costume. Mechanical authenticity remained central to the restoration, and the original V8 drivetrain was retained.
Upgrades include heated, eight-way power front seats, air conditioning, cruise control, a sunroof and a period-style audio unit with Bluetooth. They make the Classic easier to use while preserving the upright driving position and straightforward character that made the original Range Rover appealing.
That balance matters. Restomods can replace everything old until little history remains. Here, modern materials and comfort upgrades support the original vehicle rather than overpower it.
The New SV Ultra Supplies the Future
The other half of the Range Rover matched pair is a 2027 SV Ultra long-wheelbase model that has yet to be built. RM Sotheby’s describes it as the first U.S.-market example and the modern Range Rover flagship.
Its cabin uses the same Orchid White and Cinder Grey color scheme as the Classic, along with rattan palm veneer and a leather-free Ultrafabrics interior. The available SV Electrostatic audio system uses ultra-thin speakers, Body and Soul Seats and a Sensory Floor to turn music into a physical experience.
Rather than overwhelming the heritage story, the matching colors and materials connect two vehicles separated by 34 model years.

Why the Auction Estimate Reaches $950,000
RM Sotheby’s will offer the pair without reserve during its Monterey auction on August 14, 2026. Public previews begin August 12 at the Monterey Conference Center.
The estimate reflects more than two SUVs. The buyer is getting the first U.S. SV Ultra, a factory-restored Classic, a one-off matched specification and the story of Range Rover’s past and present packaged as one collection.
Luxury brands often celebrate heritage by placing an old car beside a new one at an auto show. Range Rover has taken the more ambitious route and made the connection permanent. The final auction price will reveal how much collectors believe that continuity is worth.
