Jaguar F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition: First Look

Legendary British automotive marque Jaguar looks forward to celebrating the 60th anniversary of the sexy E-type sports car in 2021. Produced from 1951 through 1975, the E-type is considered the most iconic Jaguar ever made. To commemorate the E-type milestone, Jaguar will produce a limited number of special F-TYPE coupes and convertibles called the Heritage 60 Edition. Each will be custom built by SV Bespoke from Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations team.

“Celebrating 60 years of the iconic Jaguar E-type is the perfect moment to create our first-ever SV Bespoke limited edition — and the rarest F-TYPE, with just 60 cars available globally,” said Mark Turner, commercial director of Jaguar SV Bespoke. “We’ve worked closely with Jaguar Design to develop a theme for the F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition that pays homage to the E-type in a contemporary way. It’s testament to Jaguar’s sports car design lineage that the 1960s Sherwood Green color looks as though it was designed for today’s F-TYPE,” Turner mused.

Available as a coupe or convertible, only 60 special F-TYPEs will be produced worldwide. The Heritage 60 Edition will be based on the high-performance F-TYPE R that currently sports a 575-horsepower supercharged V8 engine sending power to a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. The F-TYPE R is much quicker than the car it commemorates, with the ability to launch to 60 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds with a top speed limited to 186 mph.

“The F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition is a fantastic example of what the SV Bespoke team is capable of,” said Clare Hansen, director of vehicle personalization at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations. “With unrivalled access to original drawings, paint codes and reference materials, working hand-in-hand with our colleagues at Jaguar Classic, we’ve created a distinctive and highly collectible interpretation of the definitive Jaguar sports car,” Hansen enthused.

All 60 commemorative F-TYPES will be painted in Sherwood Green, a color offered on the original E-Type and not offered on a new Jaguar in more than 50 years. Other exclusive highlights include gloss black and chrome exterior accents, black brake calipers and exclusive Diamond-turned gloss black 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

The cabin of the Jaguar F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition features extended two-tone Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather trim as well as a unique aluminum console finisher that designers created based on the rearview mirror casing on the original E-type. Lightweight performance seats are embossed with the E-type 60th anniversary logo, and every F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition comes with an SV Bespoke commissioning plaque.

Jaguar will build the F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition at the Castle Bromwich plant in the United Kingdom, and each of the 60 examples will be completed by the SV Bespoke team at Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations in Warwickshire. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2021. Pricing will be released closer to the on-sale date.
